According to Rotten Tomatoes, 89 percent of the audience that saw the movie Gravity, liked it. I have to agree with that 89 percent. Gravity, a movie starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, is a story of two astronaunts lost in space. Before seeing the movie, I couldn’t fathom the idea of a 1.5-2 hour movie set totally in space. I was afraid that it was going to be boring, however, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they made it work, and it was a hit.
What’s unique about this movie is that there are literally only two characters. In the beginning there are more, but toward the middle of the movie Stone and Zowalsky are the only people up there in infinity and beyond.
The movie starts out with Dr. Ryan Stone, a female astronaunt, working on a piece of equipment on the space shuttle where she is accompanied by Mark Zowalksy, a veteran astronaunt. Falling debris out of the universe starts flying toward and starts the turmoil of the movie. A huge surprise involving Zowalsky happens in the middle of the movie, and I was astonished. Throughout the whole movie, the astronaunts go through rough obstacles and random situations that leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat wandering what’s gonna happen next.
