New Tech teacher, Mrs. Kasee Hobbs has decided to depart from the high school world to enter the middle school niche. She will be teaching 8th grade. She had taught sixth grade during student teaching at Castle North Middle School. During the spring semester of 2012, she taught eighth grade at Austin Middle School and fell in love with that grade level. She applied last semester to see if it would be a good fit. It could open different opportunities.
Her first day would technically have been Aug. 8, however she will be on maternity leave until Nov. 9.
She will not be an English teacher at SMS. She will instead be a social studies teacher for eighth grade students. It would definitely be a good fit on account of her Social Science degree.
When she heard of this job, she decided to apply. She will miss SHS though. She has taught at SHS New Tech since August of 2012.
When asked what she would miss, she said, “My students that will still be here. Also my staff.”
Mrs. Hobbs will be missed, if not by the whole school then by at least Doc McDonald (12) and Tonya Callahan, SHS teacher.
Doc McDonald was surprised of the new information that he heard last week.
“She needs to do what’s better for her,” said McDonald.
Mrs. Tonya Callahan found out Mrs. Kasee Hobbs was leaving for sure approximately a week ago. She felt sad about the transfer.
“But I’m happy for her, because that’s what she wants. I will miss her gentle spirit. She never gets upset over anything. I will miss her organization. She’s always on top of it. If she doesn’t like it over there, then she needs to come back,” said Callahan
