Hurricanes cause major destruction in both Texas and Florida

An extremely destructive hurricane hit both Texas and Florida recently. Hurricane Harvey, hitting Texas, has become the first major destructive hurricane in the state. Within a 4 day period, 40 inches of rain fell over Texas, causing major flooding. This resulted in hundreds of thousands of homes being destroyed, along with displacing more than 30,000 people and causing more than 17,000 rescues. Hurricane Harvey resulted in at least 71 deaths, and the economic losses are between 70-200 billion dollars. Harvey was the first major hurricane to make landfall since Wilma in 2005.

Hurricane Irma was the hurricane that shook Florida. It is said that at least 26 people have died from this hurricane and major destruction has occurred.
