On March 13, the Warrior Football team participated in a weightlifting competition at Jennings County High School. They competed against two sectional opponents, Jennings County and Madison High School. They went into the competition thinking about beating their personal record. Winning, an added bonus, was not the most important goal for the team. Their main goal as individuals was to beat their own personal record.
Tyler Combs (11) said, “I beat my personal record and placed first in every competition. We placed first over the other two teams, and we placed first somewhere around 15 of the competitions.”
With the momentum of winning their first weightlifting competition, this gives the team a moral boost to kick off the upcoming season.
