Warriorette volleyball spiking their way into the season

The girls’ volleyball team has gotten off to a strong start with a record of 5-1 in the regular season, including wins against Crothersville and West Washington. A strong and competitive Silver Creek team defeated the Warriorettes’ on Aug. 21. A big source of momentum came when they won the Scottsburg Invitational on Aug. 18 where they defeated Greensburg, Corydon and Mitchell.

Senior Jaime Jones said, “Winning the tournament gave us all a great feeling, and it motivates us for the rest of the season. It makes us feel like we can compete with anyone.”

On Saturday, Aug. 25, the team competed in another tournament at home, where there was a total of eight teams. The girls defeated Evansville North 25-20 25-23. In their other three games, they lost in three sets to Jasper, Butler and lost in straight sets to Cloverdale. The girls finished off the day 1-3.
