Busy week proves well for boys’ tennis team

With a busy few weeks of matches, the SHS boys’ tennis team is now 5-1 in conference. On Aug. 30, the team fell short to Silver Creek with a 1-4 loss. The only win came from Camden Jones (12.)

Jones said, “Last year I was undefeated in conference at one singles, and right now I am on track to do the same.”

A big match on Sept. 4 against Henryville resulted in a 5-0 win for the team. The following night, the boys’ lost 5-0 to Floyd Central who is number five in the state.

Jordy Smith (10) said, “So far this season I have only lost to Floyd Central, Silver Creek and Seymour.”

The team pulled through with a 3-2 win over North Harrison on Sept. 6.
