No one could have predicted that the yearbook would place first in every category this year at IUS Media Day. Senior Izzy Myszak had to stand in the front of the room of over 300 students from area schools as more plaques were added to the growing pile in her arms.
The yearbook placed first in the following categories: Best People Section, Best Coverage of Student Life, Best Cover, Best Theme and Divisional Pages, Best Advertising Section, Best Coverage of Clubs and Organizations, Best Overall Design, Best Opening Sections, Best Copy, Best Sports Coverage, Best Photography, Best Coverage of Academics. Additionally, Yearbook of the Year was bestowed upon The Totem.
The Booster also received more awards than the previous year. First place winners were Fee Diaz, Best Sports Photo; Jaiden Herald, Best Feature Photo; Abby Richey, Best News/Editorial Graphic, Best Column, Best Video on News Website; Hunter Barrett, Abby Richey, Best Overall Social Media; Sadie Fugate, Best Overall Website; Abby Johanningsmeier, Best Front Page Design; Anne Noble, Best Feature Story; Booster Staff, Best Overall Design and News Organization of the Year.
In second place were Jaiden Herald, Feature Story; Antonia Turner, Review; Savannah Baird, Abby Richey, and Izzy Myszak, Multimedia Package. Third place winners were Kelsi Holbrook, Review; Jaiden Herald, Feature Photo; Alli Thompson, News Story; Booster Staff; Unsigned, Staff Editorial.
Both staffs stopped to celebrate their achievements at Chick-Fil-A, an annual tradition.
