Three months of dedicated preparation came to show as SHS bowlers competed in Columbus at sectional on Sunday, Jan. 13. After hours and hours spent on the lanes, bowlers anxiously awaited their turn to compete and demonstrate their skill.
“Personally I was very nervous as I was anxious to see how we would compete. The team too was feeling the nerves as we’ve been such a competitive team,” said Kristin Hosea (11).
Before competing, players nervously waited all hoping to advance to regionals.
Hosea said, “The atmosphere was kinda nerve-racking. Everyone was nervous and wanted to win and compete well.”
According to the girls’ bowling team, their main goal for the season was to compete well at sectional.
After nine hours of competition, the girls’ bowling team placed second out of the four teams that competed.
“Overall we’ve had a lot of success this season. As a team we placed second at sectional and were conference champions. Those were huge accomplishments for our bowling team,” said Hosea.
Girls’ team captain Kristin Hosea, in addition, also placed third at sectional. Hosea will advance to the upcoming regionals.
“It was a good day. I’m incredibly proud of my team. Our hard work paid off. I couldn’t be more happy with the results of sectional. I was a little disappointed with how I placed as I was originally in second place, but overall it’s amazing to advance to regional,” said Hosea.
