On Saturday, Jan. 8, SHS’s boys’ and girls’ bowling teams competed in the Mid Southern Conference. The girls’ team took home the conference win while the boys’ team place fifth.
“It felt amazing to win conference, we have worked so hard this year,” Kristin Hosea (11) said.
“I feel that we did fairly well in conference. We played some tough teams and managed to get some wins against them,” said Jeffrey Drury (10).
The girls’ team competed against four other teams while the boys’ team versed six different teams in the conference.
“We did pretty good in conference, even though we didn’t come out on top. We have really improved. We competed pretty well. The competition was very good and we stayed with them,” said Cole Atha (10).
“It felt really good to win conference because we have been working for this since freshman year,” said Paige Hall (11).
Kristin Hosea and Grace Cannon (11) both received Girls’ All Conference and Dalton Meister received Boys’ Conference Honorable Mention.
“I couldn’t be more happy winning the all conference award, hard work pays off,” said Hosea. On Saturday, Jan. 12, SHS will compete in sectional at Columbus.
“I feel really confident in our team for sectionals. As long as we keep working hard in practice and stay focused we should advance to regionals. Individually I am personally ready for sectionals. I’ve worked hard all year for it,” said Hosea
Atha said, “I feel good going into sectionals. We have been doing a lot better and I think that we have a good chance of moving on as a team. There is also a big chance some of us could move on in singles.”
