Baseball starts season with winning record

By Jaiden Herald

Warrior baseball kicked off their season on March 27 in a match up against Brown County. In the first two weeks of their season the team has competed in six games and stand with a current record of 4-2.

“This season is going away better than expected. We are currently 4-2, and we have beaten good competitors, including Lanesville. SHS hasn’t beaten Lanesville since 2006. The team has a good brotherhood, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season is going to go,” said Jordy Smith (10).

The team started off the season with a win against Brown County and followed with wins against Lanesville, Paoli and South Central. The team fell short in match ups against North Posey and Springs Valley.

“We started out the season pretty well. I think we could of finished a few games off stronger, but overall we have had a good start,” said Treyton Owens (10).

The team will compete tonight, April 5, on Warrior Field, against Borden at 6 p.m.
