Landon Campbell (11) played all nine baseball positions in one game to make school history.
“I felt honored that they put me in that spot. I was eager to try and see if I could do it,” said Campbell.
On May 15, in a junior varsity game against Jeffersonville, Campbell played all nine positions on the field.
According to Campbell a few weeks before the game he and his coach, Dwayne Hilderbrand, were joking around at practice. Campbell told the coach to play him everywhere and Hilderbrand wanted to make it happen.
Campbell played all three outfield positions in one inning, switching after every out. He played shortstop and third base in one inning and then played catcher, pitcher, second base and first base in individual innings.
“My favorite position of the night was definitely catcher,” said Campbell.
According to Campbell, the team was supportive and wanted to help Campbell to play all nine.
“It was a great experience. I was so honored to be able to play all nine. It was something special,” said Campbell.
